Geoffrey loves to look for the big picture, then write indulgently. Born and bred in England, he lives with his Welsh wife in Switzerland where their children have grown up. Interests, study and work range from medicine to theology, giving him plenty to think about as he roams home shores or ascends Alpine heights. What crystallises out in his creative writing is a fascinating blend of body and soul, of epic fantasy and scientific rigour.

 

With aspirations to be an historical fiction writer, Geoffrey put pen to paper at an early age. His first printed novel was long in the making, a product of his own life, his imagination, detailed research, and the love of a cracking story.  On 30th January 2025, his historical novel Back to Bamburgh was published.

Back to Bamburgh is the inspiration for a unique musical performance taking place on the weekend of 7th and 8th November 2026 and on Saturday 23rd January 2027 at three locations in Switzerland (Langenbruck, Gelterkinden and Rheinfelden). Geoffrey has written a short version of the story in German which will be read by an actor, and the plot will be musically interpreted by a choir singing pieces chosen from the 14th century up to the present day, accompanied by a flutist and a percussionist. Das Lied der Heimkehr – die Legende des Will aus Bamburgh promises to be a treat.
